In The Welder’s January/February edition Amanda Carlson caught up with Capital Machine’s Brennan Palmiter.

Brennan had begun his career at the age of 16, driving an FMA-sponsored race car, was a teen spokesperson for welding and the trades and was earning his associates degree while in high school. At the age of 18, Brennan joined the Marine Corps, where he spent five years in service.

Now at the age of 25, Brennan is following a different path from that of being a race car driver. Today, he is part of the Capital Robotics team (a subsidiary of Capital Machine Technologies) in Dallas, Texas.

Brenna became interested in working with robotics and got connected with a recruiter who mentioned Capital Robotics. From the moment he visited Capital’s Technology Center in Atlanta, Georgia and had an interview, he felt like it was a good fit.

In his current role, Palmiter will be evaluating customers applications to see if a robot would reduce their cost and increase their production capabilities.

Topic: Dramatically Increase Throughput using Automatic Laser Solutions

A look at how using laser-based positioning systems can accelerate both engineering and manufacturing processes. We have the ability to guide a beam of laser light generated from the product’s CAD data with a high degree of accuracy, speed, and precision on a part or tool for layup or assembly tasks.

Virtek’s laser systems eliminate the need for costly consumables, remove manual measurement procedures and increase throughput.

Changing builder affiliations is a very serious business decision and one we have evaluated very cautiously for quite some time. In fact, this change is the first one for Capital in nearly ten years. We have sold and serviced Faccin machines for many years and represented a very significant portion of their U.S. business. We always believed in the products and did everything we could to support our customer base. During these years, we were approached by many of the world’s other Roll manufactures but no other builder maintained our attention like Davi. In the last 6 years, we have watched as Davi has consistently invested in growing its business and market influence here in the U.S. through marketing, show participation and most significantly in Service personnel, parts and inventory. Their growth has been substantial and we had the added benefit of close relationships with, and positive feedback from, several Davi dealers from other parts of the country.

In recent months, the Faccin family sold the business to an investment group and our primary contacts for sales and parts left Faccin to join Davi. Frankly, these happenings made our decision quite clear and we have officially ended our sales relationship with Faccin but not our dedication to continue providing service support. We want to emphasize to you, your company and all companies who purchased Faccin machines from Capital, we plan to continue providing field service to your machine(s) and have received confirmation from Faccin that they will cooperate with our servicing efforts. Going forward, existing Faccin customers can contact Faccin or Capital for service support.

Capital has enjoyed sustained growth for many years. We have benefitted from strong customer relationships and a dedicated staff of professionals including over 20 members of our service team. Our builder affiliations represent industry leaders in every category and this change is consistent with our philosophy to represent the very best organizations. That list now includes Davi.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments regarding this announcement, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly or your Capital representative.

Sincerely,
William Citron
President

Capital Machine Technologies (CMT) is pleased to announce the promotion of William (Bill) Citron to the position of President effective October 1, 2016. Citron joined Capital in November, 2013 as C.O.O. and has been working closely with Dan Pentaudi to learn and foster the successful formula that has led to the growth and success of Capital. Dan Pentaudi remains active with the organization and will transition to C.E.O.

Pentaudi stated: “Bringing Bill Citron on board several years ago was a strategic move for Capital and part of a long-range program to continue to grow and nurture the organization. Bill brought substantial management skills and experience to the organization and has certainly strengthened our ability to add and develop the necessary talents to perpetuate Capital’s growth. We can only be as good as our people and Bill has helped attract exciting new talent to the team including Sales, Service & Support personnel.”

Citron commented: “I am grateful to Capital’s ownership team for the confidence they have placed in me, and will do all I can to continue the success and growth that have been the hallmarks of the Capital Machine story.  Dynamic growth and a passion to serve our customers is the path that has made CMT what it is today, and what will continue to shape our future.  From Service to Sales to Administration, we have an exceptional staff of professionals that all understand why our customers and builders are so loyal to us.”

This is an exciting time for CMT; the organization represents the top builders of machines, tooling, and software in the industry as well as having the best staff to sell and support them.  With this promotion, as well as new Sales and Support Staff, Capital Machine Technologies is looking forward to another twenty-five years and beyond of serving the metal fabrication industry.
